How to Make AI Text Undetectable in 2026

Why AI Text Gets Caught

AI writes in patterns. That's the fundamental problem. Every sentence tends to be roughly the same length. The vocabulary leans formal and repetitive. Paragraphs follow a neat introduction, body, conclusion structure. Every. Single. Time.

Detection tools like GPTZero and Turnitin pick up on this. They measure two things: how predictable your next word is (perplexity) and how much variation exists between sentences (burstiness). Real human writing scores high on both. We mix short sentences with long rambling ones. Our word choices are messier, more unpredictable.

What Actually Works

Vary Your Sentence Length

This is the single biggest change you can make. Short sentences hit hard. Then you write one that stretches out, weaving through a thought with commas and subclauses until the reader has almost forgotten where it started. That contrast is what makes writing feel human.

AI doesn't do this. It writes sentences that are remarkably similar in length, usually between 15 and 25 words. Every time.

Replace the Usual Suspects

Certain words appear far more often in AI output than in human writing. "Furthermore" is a dead giveaway. So are "comprehensive," "facilitate," and "utilise." Nobody actually talks like that. Swap them for simpler words. "Also" instead of "furthermore." "Help" instead of "facilitate." "Use" instead of "utilise."

Add Contractions

AI tends to write "do not" when a real person would write "don't." It says "it is" when you'd say "it's." Adding contractions throughout your text is a quick win that makes everything sound more natural.

Break Your Structure

AI loves neat, balanced paragraphs. Each one introduces a point, develops it, then concludes. Real writing is messier than that. Sometimes a paragraph is one sentence. Sometimes you start mid-thought. And that's fine.

Use Your Own Voice

Throw in a "look" or "honestly" or "here's what I mean." Reference specific experiences. AI writes in a generic, authoritative tone. Humans write with personality, opinions, and the occasional tangent.

The Easy Way

If manual editing feels tedious, our AI Humaniser handles all of this automatically. It rewrites your text with natural variation while keeping your original meaning. You can see the before and after AI detection scores side by side.

What Doesn't Work

Synonym swapping tools are useless against modern detectors. They look at sentence-level patterns, not individual words. Adding random typos is counterproductive too. It makes your text worse without changing the underlying patterns that detectors look for.

The key is structural change. Varied sentences, natural vocabulary, conversational transitions, and imperfect paragraph structure. That's what separates human writing from AI output.
